hallowing light

Simplified replication of the Bruder Klaus Chapel located in Mechernich, Germany made from museum board, basswood sticks, and glue. Perforations in the wall create a pattern of 7 dots passing through a wooden wigwam, symbolizing Saint Bruder Klaus’ mystical wheel vision. This natural daylighting effect only appears on September 25, the day of his commemorative holiday, at an azimuth and altitude of 137.49°/ 29.94° (angle and orientation simulated in last photo).
